Anthropic announced on September 16, 2026 that it is folding Claude Cowork β its separate agent workspace, launched as a research preview in January 2026 for nontechnical agentic work β into the main Claude chat: any ordinary conversation can now trigger long-running, multi-step tasks that execute in Anthropic's cloud, continue after the user's laptop closes, and return editable Claude Docs, Slides, and Design artifacts, with tasks schedulable to recur. The rollout is phased β Pro and Max first across web, desktop, and mobile, then Team and Free, with Enterprise admins promised at least 30 days' notice β and existing chats, projects, artifacts, connectors, and skills are said to carry over; users can choose Claude's autonomy level, from ask-before-action by default to continue-and-check-in. Press coverage in the snippets corroborates these product-side claims and the autonomy controls, but is silent on the case's execution-side record, which rests on Reddit user reports and Anthropic's own support documentation: a dated Oct 6 removal of local ('Only on this computer') execution and an accumulating, Anthropic-unacknowledged pattern of reliability and workflow regressions.

Starting today, Claude Cowork and chat are merging into one Claude. Bring a quick question, or hand over a report due at noon, and Claude takes it from there, even after youβve closed your laptop. Itβs rolling out on Pro and Max plans over the next few weeks, with more plans to follow.
What Claude makes doesnβt need its own place either. Claude Docs and Claude Slides are new today, and [Claude Design](https://claude.com/product/design) now works inside your conversations too. Ask for a document, and you and Claude write it together. Ask for a presentation, and Claude drafts the slides. You can edit directly, present straight from Claude, or download as PowerPoint or PDF. All three are in beta on paid plans, and Enterprise admins choose when to turn them on. If you use Claude Design on its own, it keeps working as before.
We built Cowork as a separate place for bigger work, and Design for visual work. People used both, and told us the frustrating part was deciding where a task belonged. What theyβd started in one also didnβt carry into the other. So we stopped making you choose. Claude can now figure out what a task needs, so what Cowork and Design can do is available from any conversation, with the context, skills, and connectors you already have.
> *βI could have Claude pull up [my legal research database], and it would pull all the cases, read them, figure out which other cases I might need, download them, and store them in a folder for my personal review.β - Andrew Keller, Senior Economist*
## What it looks like
A weekly report is due at noon. Before you head out, you ask Claude what moved in the pipeline last week, then add: βWrite it the way we always do, flag anything that slipped, and put the highlights in five slides for the leadership meeting.β If somethingβs unclear, Claude asks. You can check progress from your phone on the way to the office. By the time youβre at your desk, the report is waiting as a doc with notes from your teammate, and the slides are ready to open, adjust, and download as PowerPoint. Both came out of the same conversation, so the slides already match the report. You fix a line yourself, leave a comment for Claude on a slide, and share it. Schedule it for every Monday, and Claude starts on the report without being asked.
Anything you make with Claude Design, Slides, or Docs lives at one shareable link you can open on your phone. You can select an element and move it, or tell Claude what you want changed.
You can choose how Claude checks in with you. By default, Claude asks before taking an action. If youβd rather let it keep working and check in only when something needs a closer look, you can turn that on. You keep the final say.
## Getting started
If you mostly use chat, you donβt have to do anything different. When you want to hand over something bigger, try the next report or deck youβd normally build yourself. If youβve been working in Cowork, everything is where you left it: your chats, projects, artifacts, connectors, and skills. When you open the app, pick up where you left off.
This is rolling out to Pro and Max plans first, in the Claude app on web, desktop, and mobile over the coming weeks to existing and new users on these plans. Thereβs nothing to turn on. Team and Free plans will follow soon, and Enterprise admins will hear from us at least 30 days before anything changes for their organizations.
The full list of capabilities is in the [Help Center](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/16761823). If youβve been saving up a big messy project, nowβs the time.

Ask for what you need, and Claude decides whether that's a quick answer or a task. This is rolling out gradually to Pro and Max plans, with more plans to follow. If you're on a Pro or Max plan and your message box no longer shows "Chat" and "Cowork" options, you have the new experience, and some steps in this article may look different. Learn more in **[Claude Cowork and chat are one Claude](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/16761823)**, or read our **[blog post](https://claude.com/blog/cowork-is-now-claude)**.
**Heads-up for Pro and Max plans:** On October 6, 2026, new Cowork tasks run in the cloud and the **Only on your computer** option in **[Settings > General](https://claude.ai/settings/general)** will be removed. Tasks you already started on your computer stay there. See **[What's changing for Pro and Max plans on October 6](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/15520349-use-claude-cowork-on-web-desktop-and-mobile#h_f951c27c48)** below.
Claude Cowork is available on desktop, web, mobile, and in the Claude in Chrome side panel. Your sessions and files live with your Claude account and go where you go, on any device. This article explains how to start a Cowork session and what's available on each surface.
Claude Cowork is in beta on web and mobile for Pro, Max, and Team plans, and on Enterprise plans where an admin has enabled it. Cowork is also available in the Claude in Chrome side panel on Max and Team plans, on Pro plans as it rolls out, and on Enterprise plans where an admin has enabled it. See **[Claude in Chrome admin controls](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/13065128-claude-in-chrome-admin-controls#h_bdb63199e1)** for enablement steps.

## Start a Cowork session
On desktop, web, and mobile, chat and Cowork share one home, so you start both from the same place. Find the message box, select "Cowork" in the bottom left corner, then describe your task. To go back to a regular conversation, select "Chat."
If you have the new Claude experience, there's no "Cowork" option to select. Describe your task in any conversation, and Claude takes it from there.
The Chrome side panel works differently. Opening the side panel starts a Cowork session directly, with no selector to switch between chat and Cowork.
- **Web:** Go to **[claude.ai](https://claude.ai)** and find the βHomeβ tab.
- **Mobile:** Open the latest version of Claude for iOS or Claude for Android. If you don't see the Cowork option in the message box, update the app.
- **Desktop:** Open the latest version of the Claude Desktop app. If you don't see the Cowork option in the message box, update the app. Desktop is the full Cowork experience, where Claude can also use your local files and browser.
- **Chrome:** Click the Claude icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the side panel. The side panel starts a Cowork session, so there's no need to select "Cowork" first.

## How Cowork in the cloud works
When using Cowork in the cloud, Claude's work runs on Anthropic's servers instead of your computer, and your sessions and files are saved to your Claude account. This changes what Cowork can do:
- Work continues in the background. Close your laptop and Claude keeps going.
- Scheduled tasks run with no device online.
- The same sessions and files are available on desktop, web, and mobile.
- Sessions run in the cloud on every surface.
For details on how cloud and local sessions are isolated and what each can access, see **[Claude Cowork architecture overview](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/14479288)**. For safety guidance, see **[Use Claude Cowork safely](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/13364135)**.

## What's changing for Pro and Max plans on October 6
On October 6, 2026, new Cowork tasks on Pro and Max plans run in the cloud. The **Only on your computer** option in **[Settings > General](https://claude.ai/settings/general)** will be removed, and there's nothing you need to set up.
Tasks you already started on your computer stay there, and you can keep working on them until they're done. Each one shows a note at the top with a button to download its transcript, in case you want to continue that work in Claude Code.
Your folders stay on your computer. Claude reaches only the folders you've connected, through the desktop app, and only while it's open. When a task needs a file in the cloud, Claude fetches a copy of just that file. When you delete a session, the copies Claude fetched are deleted too, per our **[data retention practices](https://privacy.claude.com/en/articles/10023548-how-long-do-you-store-my-data)**. Whether your conversations are used to improve Claude follows the **Help improve our AI models** setting in **[Settings > Privacy](https://claude.ai/settings/data-privacy-controls)**.
Your scheduled tasks move to the cloud too, including ones that use files on your computer. Tasks that use files on your computer need the desktop app open. See **[Schedule recurring tasks in Claude Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/13854387)**.
### If you want tasks to run on your computer
Some work has to stay on one machine. Claude Code in the desktop app runs on your computer and keeps your folders and history there. **[Get Claude Code desktop](https://claude.com/download)**. To bring past work with you, download a task's transcript from the note at the top of the task, or download your full Cowork history from the notice in the app, and open it in Claude Code. Your projects and scheduled tasks don't carry over to Claude Code.
If you use Claude at work and at home and want them separate, use a separate account for each. Shared logins aren't supported.

A few notes on the table:
- \*Local file access, local connectors, browser use, and computer use from web and mobile work through the Claude Desktop app. A cloud session can read and write files in folders you've connected on your computer only while the desktop app is open on that computer and the session was started on desktop. If the app is closed, the session keeps running but can't reach your local files.
- Projects are available on every surface. From a project you can start a chat or a Cowork session, and Claude uses the project's knowledge as context. Projects tied to a local folder support Cowork sessions on desktop only, and Cowork won't change a project's contents, so add anything you want to keep to the project yourself. For more information, see **[Organize your tasks with projects in Claude Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/14116274)** and **[Use live artifacts in Claude Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/14729249)**.
- Artifacts created on or after August 19, 2026 are available on the desktop app and web. Live artifacts created before that date are available on the desktop app only. For more information, see **[Use artifacts in Claude Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/14729249)**.
- Local connectors and plugins that include local MCP servers work through the desktop app only.
- Scheduled tasks run in the cloud, so they no longer need your computer to be awake. For more information, see **[Schedule recurring tasks in Claude Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/13854387)**.
- Computer use is in beta for Pro and Max plans. For more information, see **[Let Claude use your computer in Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/14128542)**.
## What requires the desktop app
Some capabilities reach things on your computer, so they need the Claude Desktop app open on your machine, even when your session runs in the cloud:
- **Local file access.** Claude reads and writes files in folders you've connected on your computer. A session in the cloud reaches these files only while the desktop app is open, only for folders you've connected, and with the permissions you've already set.
- **Local connectors.** This includes plugins using those connectors.
- **Browser use.** On desktop, Claude uses a browser built into the Claude Desktop app by default (rolling out gradually this week), or your own Chrome browser through Claude in Chrome if that's your preferred browser. When the desktop app is online, the built-in browser is also available in Cowork on web or mobile. A session started on desktop can be steered from web or mobile while the desktop app stays open. In the Chrome side panel, Claude can read the tab you're on without the desktop app. Claude driving a browser as part of a task still needs the desktop app open. Learn more in **[Use the built-in browser in Claude Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/16607400)**.
- **Computer use.** Claude clicks, types, and navigates your screen directly.
## Move between surfaces
When using Cowork in the cloud, sessions follow your account, so you can switch surfaces mid-task:
1. Start a task on any surface.
2. Open the same session from another surface to check progress, answer Claude's questions, or redirect the work.
3. Pick up the finished output wherever you are.
For example, start a task in the Chrome side panel while you're looking at a dashboard, then pick it up on desktop to work with the downloaded files.
When Claude finishes a task or needs your input, you'll get a notification on your phone. To get started, see **[Get started with Claude Cowork](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/13345190)**. | m-hodges | 3 | 0 |

The standing conversion rule fired: the Oct 6 cutover executed as documented and the first concrete post-cutover execution receipt arrived (1x01z5i β project files lost session-disk access and download), so the case resolves as absorbed. The merger claim proved out as shipped product reality and the local-execution boundary removal is now established fact; community attention collapsed post-cutover (0.17 pts/h vs 281 peak, HN static, no press or Anthropic response β the forced-cloud cutover landed with a whimper as power users self-consolidated onto Claude Code). Remaining threads (local-session drift under new messages, Dispatch sunset, Team/Free rollout, corroboration of the slowdown and approval-override reports) are monitoring trails, not open questions on this hypothesis, and belong to future episodes.

evidence attached: reddit.post.1x01z5i β Concrete regression from the Cowork-chat merger: project files lost session-disk access and download, forcing context-burning whole-file rewrites.
2026-10-05T22:15:22Z
Cutover-day restate, no new fact: the new HN attachment (49969693, 3 pts/0 comments) republishes the already-anchored local-session removal and the eve-of-cutover post ticked 103β111 pts, so the promised conversion β cutover behavior documented β has not fired yet. Per the standing rule, heat steps down from cadence-only high to medium: velocity halved again (11.2 pts/h vs 286 peak, cooling, 83rd percentile), the magnitude-valve spread reading still keys on the mid-September peak objects (1wtk12a 561, 1wxiysh 461 accumulated) plus one bare HN link rather than live breadth, and the case now rides entirely on Oct 6 cutover execution reports β on arrival they resolve this case.

Cutover-window restate: the new attachment (1wyd2zw) re-reports the already-anchored local-task deprecation with added privacy sentiment β no new fact, so material_change stays false and the case's meaning is unchanged. Heat holds high one final beat purely on cadence against cooling numbers (15.8 pts/h, 85th percentile, momentum cooling): the Oct 6 cutover, already partially executing since ~Oct 3, is now inside the look window and its execution reports are the case's payoff β a scheduled pickup, not a spread call. Next look converts: cutover behavior documented β resolve/absorb with a consolidated receipt; nothing material β cool sharply to medium/low.

evidence attached: reddit.post.1wyd2zw β Reports Cowork deprecating local-only tasks during the chat merger, removing local execution and drawing visible privacy backlash β material context for re-judging the unification.
2026-10-05T14:30:05Z
The new attachment (1wy7b2v) documents chat as a partial plugin runtime β skills and remote MCP load, but hooks, subagents, and local stdio servers are silently skipped, so a skill can load without the tool it needs β the first concrete record of the merged surface silently half-executing extensible workflows, consistent with the support doc's desktop-only local-connector table. The anticipatory spike has cooled (42.7β11.5 pts/h, momentum cooling), but heat holds high on cadence: the Oct 6 cutover is at or over its boundary and its execution reports are this case's payoff; breadth remains r/ClaudeAI-confined (HN static, no press, no Anthropic response), so the magnitude-valve spread reading still reflects the mid-September peak.

Eve-of-cutover repricing: the new attachment (1wxs6hj) merely restates the Oct 6 cutoff at zero engagement and the map post's five-fold growth (48β255 pts) is anticipatory engagement β no new facts β but the attention line has genuinely spiked (aggregate 42.7 pts/h, 97.3rd peer percentile, steady momentum) with the deterministic cutoff now under a day away and its early phase already executing. Heat rises to high on cadence: the cutover execution reports are this case's payoff and will land within hours of the deadline; breadth remains r/ClaudeAI-confined, so the magnitude-valve spread reading still reflects the mid-September peak.
2026-10-04T22:25:54Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wxs6hj β Reports Local Cowork's local-execution toggle ending Oct 6 with new tasks cloud-only, a material facet of the Cowork-chat merger and user migration to Claude Code.
2026-10-04T17:08:15Z
The new evidence is a community-built map of all 21 official Anthropic migration docs β no new facts beyond what the support doc already anchors, but it marks the consolidation entering its self-documenting phase and is now the case's hottest object (98.5th peer percentile, aggregate velocity up from ~0 to ~8 pts/h), all still confined to r/ClaudeAI. Heat holds at medium on the live dated catalyst β early cutoff already executing, full Oct 6 cloud-only cutover within ~24h β not on breadth; the magnitude-valve spread reading still reflects the mid-September peak.
2026-10-04T16:42:23Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wxiysh β Aggregated map of 21 official docs showing the Oct 6 cloud-only session migration for Pro/Max is the storage/data-locality side of the same chat/Cowork consolidation.
2026-10-03T23:44:28Z
The case's listed renewal trigger has fired early: two independent users on the 1wrqewc thread report scheduled tasks can no longer be created or updated, with the timing confirmed against Anthropic's own support doc ('should have gone into effect next Tuesday') β the Oct 6 cloud-only cutover is beginning to execute ahead of its announced date, shifting the catalyst from anticipated to occurring. Aggregate velocity stays flat (~0 pts/h, 27th percentile), so medium heat prices the live dated catalyst and the full cutoff ~2 days out, not growth; everything else is dormant r/ClaudeAI tail.
2026-10-02T14:58:45Z
First evidence on the approval/trust layer: a Max 20x user reports Bypass Permissions removed and an Auto classifier overriding prior user-set approvals β the consolidation pattern now extends from where work executes to who authorizes it, quietly contradicting the launch claim 'You keep the final say.' Single-source and unverified, so it deepens the existing pattern rather than upgrading the case; engagement stays dormant and the deterministic Oct 6 local-task cutoff (~3 days out) remains the only live catalyst.
2026-10-02T14:26:17Z

Both velocity-spike triggers were the same 'Excuse me?' deprecation thread's tail (534β541 pts) with no new facts or new evidence; measured velocity has since fallen to ~0 pts/h and 25th peer percentile (from 88.5), and the magnitude-valve spread reading reflects the mid-September peak, not the present β growth never left r/ClaudeAI, HN is static, no Anthropic response. Meaning is unchanged, so heat drops to low: the only live catalyst is the deterministic Oct 6 local-task cutoff ~4 days out, which should re-heat the case on actual cutover evidence rather than zero-velocity anticipation.
2026-09-30T20:23:23Z
No new facts this look: the sensor re-fired on the same 'Excuse me?' deprecation thread (~460β~506 pts, now decelerating, aggregate ~13β~8.5 pts/h, 88.5th percentile) plus a re-trigger for the Anthropic support article already absorbed when the anchor was promoted to it. The episode's meaning is unchanged β cloud-only execution is settled policy, reliability frictions keep accumulating unacknowledged, growth deepens only inside r/ClaudeAI β and the pre-Oct-6 lull is now confirmed by the numbers. Heat holds medium solely for the dated Oct 6 local-task cutoff ~5 days out and a still-top-decile thread, not for growth; material_change stays false since engagement and re-triggered evidence are not new facts.
2026-09-30T19:41:17Z
anchor promoted to claim owner's artifact: echo.blog.b121f3ccdf -> hn.story.49910278 β Anthropic's own support article sets the dated October 6 cloud-only cutover and removal of the 'Only on your computer' option β the concrete escalation of the same Cowork-consolidation episode, and the first-party anchor outranks the prior report.

No new facts this look β the device-profile stranding bug was already absorbed at the prior look, and the only movement is the 'Excuse me?' deprecation-backlash thread crossing ~460 pts while the aggregate tail cooled fivefold (~64 β ~13 pts/h, momentum cooling). The episode has entered its pre-Oct-6 lull with meaning unchanged: cloud-only execution is settled policy, reliability frictions accumulate unacknowledged, and the next scheduled catalyst is the Oct 6 local-task cutoff ~5 days out. Heat holds medium for the approaching dated cutoff and a still-top-percentile thread, not for growth; state stays corroborated since the new failure reports remain single-community and Anthropic has not responded.
2026-09-30T11:24:57Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wu23if β Duplicate device-profile bug stranded a hours-long async Cowork task β concrete early reliability evidence against the laptop-closed execution the case hinges on.
2026-09-30T02:15:01Z
No new facts since the last reprice β what moved is volume: the two cloud-deprecation backlash threads kept climbing (343 and 88 pts), roughly quadrupling aggregate velocity to ~64 pts/h at the 94th peer percentile (a loud magnitude-valve spread reading), but every addition deepens the same r/ClaudeAI failure cluster with no new nodes, communities, outlets, or Anthropic response. Heat holds medium β a hot single-community tail priced for attention, with the Oct 6 local-task cutoff six days out as the next likely re-ignition β and material_change stays false because engagement growth and repetitive cancellation/migration sentiment are not new facts.

evidence attached: reddit.post.1wtnngk β Official support doc sets a hard Oct 6 deprecation date for Tasks, concrete evidence the asynchronous-workspace consolidation behind the Cowork/chat merger case is executing.
2026-09-29T22:30:23Z
Anthropic's own in-app deprecation notice converts the cloud-only execution shift from an unacknowledged friction pattern into deliberate, dated policy β new local tasks end Oct 6 β resolving the case's central bug-vs-policy question for local execution, and the widest backlash thread (70 pts) shows the user response is consolidation: cancellations and migration to Claude Code with repo-CLAUDE.md patterns. Heat rises to medium on the dated Oct 6 cutoff and the fresh top-percentile backlash thread, not on launch-week spread β aggregate velocity is still ~5% of peak and additions remain single-community.
2026-09-29T20:53:11Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wtjezc β First-party deprecation notice ending local Cowork tasks on Oct 6 is a concrete rollout consequence of the unification, with corroborating community reaction.

2026-09-27T19:26:33Z
A second independent Max-user report (reddit.post.1wrqewc) corroborates the loss of local Cowork sessions β upgrading the cloud-only execution shift from single-source to two-source, while the 3β4x slowdown and ~30% failure quantification remain single-source β and adds a minor new friction (scheduled runs leaking into the interactive session list). This fires one of the case's own declared renewal triggers; the split verdict holds and heat stays low because current additions remain isolated single-digit threads inside the same failure cluster with no periphery expansion.
2026-09-27T18:24:42Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wrqewc β User-visible rollout detail β local Cowork sessions removed and scheduled runs bleeding into interactive session lists β materially contextualises how the Cowork/chat merger is landing.
2026-09-26T19:28:26Z
The single-source Max-user report of forced cloud-only execution (3β4x slowdowns, ~30% task failures, no local opt-out) upgrades the execution side from an unacknowledged friction pattern to a first quantified reliability failure aimed at the merger's core async promise β still uncorroborated, so the split verdict holds but with a sharper execution-side edge and a new unresolved dimension (loss of local execution as an option). Heat stays low despite the magnitude flag and 74th peer percentile: the spread reading is launch-week breadth, while current additions are near-zero-engagement threads inside the same failure cluster and the periphery is not expanding.
2026-09-26T19:24:02Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wqymk8 β First-hand Max-user report that the One Claude merge forces cloud-only execution with ~30% task failures, 3-4x slowdowns and no local opt-out β material cost/reliability counterweight the unification case must weigh.

The per-project CLAUDE.md loading failure extends the execution-layer friction cluster into project-memory continuity β a new sub-dimension alongside file semantics, external auth, and concurrency β but it consolidates rather than changes the established split verdict: product side third-party verified, execution side an unacknowledged regression pattern still awaiting a bug-vs-policy ruling. Attention stays low; the magnitude flag encodes launch-week breadth and current additions are isolated near-zero-engagement r/ClaudeAI threads within the same failure cluster.
2026-09-25T18:28:12Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wq2gdl β User reports the Cowork-chat merger dropped per-project CLAUDE.md loading in new sessions β a concrete regression consequence the unification case should carry.
2026-09-25T13:48:48Z
The folder-as-context report is a second independent file-semantics regression (joining read-only project files) inside the already-established execution-layer friction pattern β a refinement, not a new failure dimension β so the split verdict stands unchanged: product side third-party verified, execution side unacknowledged by Anthropic. Attention stays low: 0.5 pts/h absolute at 10-day age; the 65th peer percentile is a cohort-relative artifact of everything that old being quiet, and the magnitude flag encodes launch-week breadth, not current spread.
2026-09-25T13:25:17Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wpv0fi β User-side evidence of a concrete workflow regression (folder-as-context handling lost) after the Cowork/chat merge β re-judging that case must weigh the merge's practical costs.
2026-09-25T08:43:59Z
The independent Claude Docs walkthrough completes a split verdict that now defines the case: the merger's product-side claims (unified interface, in-conversation editable artifacts) are third-party verified, while the execution layer β read-only project files, broken GitHub auth, serializing parallel sessions β remains a standing first-hand friction pattern with no Anthropic response or bug/policy ruling. Heat stays low despite the magnitude-valve flag: the multi-platform spread is launch-week residue, current additions are isolated near-zero-engagement items, and the periphery is not expanding.
2026-09-25T08:24:29Z
evidence attached: reddit.post.1wpqpx7 β Third-party walkthrough of Claude Docs in-conversation authoring is direct evidence for the Cowork/chat merger's editable-Docs capability.
2026-09-25T00:15:22Z
The serialization report is the third independent first-hand execution-layer regression (read-only project files, broken GitHub auth, now parallel sessions serializing), consolidating the case from a launch story with scattered complaints into a standing friction pattern in exactly the unattended-execution dimensions that matter. Attention has fully decayed (peak ~171 pts/h to 0.17, 33rd percentile) with additions confined to single low-score r/ClaudeAI threads, so despite the cumulative magnitude-valve spread flag β which reflects launch-week breadth, not current spread β heat drops to low; this is now a comparison input for the Delegation Plane, not a live episode.

A new firsthand report says previously constrained, MCP-configured chat workflows now route into Cowork, making preservation of user-selected execution boundaries a concrete rollout concern. A user quotes Anthropic help documentation saying Dispatch is unavailable to new users while existing users retain access for now, adding a concrete but indirectly sourced access restriction to the consolidation story. This suggests a transition in delegation entry points, not confirmed Dispatch retirement or proof that unified chat replaces its capabilities.

The additional artifact-tools link and discussion repeat the existing launch and feature-parity concerns without adding an implementation result or independent confirmation of reliable unattended work. The merger remains a concrete delegation-interface development with unresolved execution and migration risks, not a demonstrated boundary-free delegation contract.

The new scheduling complaint does not establish that a scheduled task was actually created, that execution failed, or that the user has the unified rollout; it identifies a setup-versus-delivery ambiguity rather than demonstrating broken task durability. With no verified unattended-execution result or stronger migration evidence, the case can cool without changing its interpretation.

evidence attached: reddit.post.1wir06f β A user reports Cowork forgetting scheduled work, providing practical negative evidence about asynchronous agent continuity and task durability.

Additional firsthand testimony makes project fragmentation a more credible rollout risk than the original isolated complaint, while a reported Chat/Cowork toggle workaround suggests some failures may be mode confusion rather than lost data. A brief report of using Design adds limited evidence of feature availability, but neither reliable unattended execution nor a consistently boundary-free interface is demonstrated.
2026-09-16T22:40:33Z
The newly attached post explicitly says the features are not yet visible to its author; it is rollout anticipation, not the hands-on confirmation claimed by the attachment rationale. It adds no implementation evidence or contradiction to the announced phased rollout, leaving unattended execution and migration integrity as the consequential open questions.
